Job summary

1199SEIU Training and Employment Funds is seeking Lab Technologists for various positions in hospitals and nursing homes across New York. The ideal candidates will hold a BS degree in Medical Lab Sciences and possess necessary certifications and licenses.

Responsibilities include preparing reagents, conducting lab tests, and ensuring cleanliness in the lab. Positions offer a comprehensive Union benefits package and require COVID-19 vaccination.

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum related experience required.
• Experience/Registry in Blood bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, or Pathology required.
• Current BCLS/ACLS required.

Lab Technologists receive specimens, prepare reagents, conduct lab tests, and maintain cleanliness in the lab.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Medical Lab Sciences with clinical training
• NYS Lab Technologist License required
• 1 year minimum related experience
• Experience/Registry in Blood bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, and/or Pathology areas required
• American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification required
• Current BCLS/ACLS required
• Bilingual is a plus

Schedule

• All positions are in hospitals and nursing homes. These facilities are open 24 hours/7 days each week.
• General shift availability:
  • Days (7a-3p or 8a-4p)
  • Evenings (3p-11p or 4p-12a)
  • Nights (11p-7a or 12a-8a)
• Every other weekend is usually required for all positions.
