Job summary

Grady Health System in Atlanta, GA, seeks a Technical Assistant to support specimen processing and distribution, ensuring accurate patient identification prior to analysis by a Medical Technologist.

You will provide specimen collection information to providers, and communicate test results per standard lab procedures, working with laboratory information systems and following accessioning and reporting practices.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
• Ability to follow procedures and work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen processing and distribution in preparation for analysis by a Medical Technologist after confirming the accuracy of the patient identification.
• Provides specimen collection information and any applicable special instructions to providers.
• Communicates test results to appropriate individuals in accordance with standard clinical laboratory procedure.
