Job summary

Fortrea is seeking a Lab Technician in Madison, WI to interact with healthy volunteer participants and perform routine lab sample processing for Phase I studies. You will learn to read clinical research protocols in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

You will follow specimen handling procedures, operate lab equipment, and help maintain workflow and inventory to ensure timely processing. This is a full-time, on-site role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree preferred; relevant lab experience considered in lieu.
  • Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine laboratory sample processing for Phase I unit.
  • Follows the laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing.
  • Operates and maintains laboratory equipment; inventory reagents and supplies.

****This role is within a processing lab and not an analytical lab.****As one of the largest Clinical Research Organizations in the world, we have four Early Phase Clinical Research Units in the UK and US.We are currently seeking a Lab Technician to interact directly with our healthy volunteer participants while learning to read clinical research protocols and enjoy working in a fast-paced team-oriented environment. Each day is different, you will be exposed to a wide variety of Therapeutic Indications and study types (ascending dose, first-in-human, food effect, drug to drug interactions, etc.)This is a full-time, office/clinic-based job in Madison, WI .If you join us, you will work with some of the world´s leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies in a vital stage of clinical development: establishing the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of a new drug.Many Technicians are drawn to their profession because of its direct impact on patient care. Whilst allowing you to continue to practice your clinical skills and knowledge, you´ll be involved with the latest medical technologies and treatments, witnessing their development firsthand. When the drug you worked with gets approved, you know you´ll touch many patient´s lives around the world.WHAT YOU WILL DO:You will utilize your skills, knowledge, and clinical judgement to provide a high standard of care clinical research.WHAT YOU WILL DOYou will perform routine laboratory sample processing for phase I unit.Other key responsibilities:Follows the laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing.Operates laboratory equipment.Recognizes deviations from expected results and follows up appropriately.Participates in the collection of biological specimens. Evaluates and solves problems related to the collection and processing of specimens.Facilitates the workflow through the laboratory to ensure completion of processing in a timely manner.Operates and utilizes all communications systems available in the laboratory; telephones, copiers, facsimile machines and pagers.Maintains and cleans laboratory equipment.Inventories reagents and supplies to ensure uninterrupted operations.Undertake any other duties as requiredYOU NEED TO BRING …Associate degree preferred, but will consider relevant lab experience.Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements1 year of laboratory experience.
