Job summary

Link Snacks is seeking a Microbiologist to manage the Listeria Control Program, pre-operational swabbing, and environmental monitoring. The role requires maintaining several quality programs, validating lab equipment, and ensuring correct documentation while working in a plant/office environment.

The candidate should be capable of working in refrigerated conditions, possess HAACP certification within 6 months, and have strong math and English skills.

Qualifications

  • Works in a fast-paced environment and completes training for HAACP within 6 months of hire/transfer.
  • Has a firm knowledge of QA methods, product testing standards, regulatory compliance, and documentation procedures.
  • Able to follow policies and interact respectfully in a team setting.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and basic math.
  • Reads and writes English proficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the LCOP by weekly Listeria swabbing in sampling areas.
  • Maintain weekly swabbing for Pre-Operational environmental sampling.
  • Maintain the weekly environmental air monitoring swabbing program.
  • Maintain the process water monitor program.
  • Implement Micro Corrective Action when results exceed limits.

Job description

Hours:
  • 3rd Shift: Friday - Sunday, 4am - 5pm
Primary Purpose:

To perform necessary functions in order ensure the following are executed:

Accountabilities:
  • Maintain the LCOP (Listeria Control Program) by performing weekly Listeria swabbing of areas that are selected for sampling
  • Maintain the Pre-Operational environmental swabbing and testing program by performing weekly swabbing of the areas that are selected for sampling
  • Maintain the environmental air monitoring program by performing weekly swabbing of areas that are selected for sampling.
  • Maintain the process water monitor program
  • Implement Micro Corrective Action when results of LCOP, Pre-Operational, and operational environment swabbing have exceeded limits.
  • Complete testing on all finished product that has been produced during scheduled operating hours.
  • Maintain the QPT (Quarterly USDA Pathogen Testing Program) by sending out finished product samples to contract outside laboratory.
  • Complete validation, calibration, temperature monitoring, and cleaning of all Micro Lab equipment.
  • Maintain COA (Certificate of Acceptance), COC (Certificates of Compliance), and COG (Certificates of Guarantee) under the Micro Lab’s document control program.
  • Document all test results by recording results into the company shared document files.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Manage the Micro Lab inventory and report when supplies are needed.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in a refrigerated environment.
  • Must be able to repeatedly lift, push/pull over 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, squat, reach, and grasp routinely throughout shift.

Pay range for this role is $22.50 - $26.00 (Annual). Actual wage will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience. Base pay is just one component of Link Snacks Total Rewards package for Team Members. Other rewards may include annual incentive and program-specific awards.
