Job summary

STgenetics is seeking a Lab Technician to support the production of sexed semen and maintain high-quality laboratory standards. The role includes hands-on training under supervision and opportunities to advance to more independent responsibilities as proficiency grows.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years’ related experience or equivalent education.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work any shift including evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time for all scheduled shifts and communicate with team members.
• Operate and maintain sorters and lab computers for data entry.
• Participate in daily production of sexed semen with emphasis on sterility and semen quality.
• Perform sorter startup, calibration, sort setup and shutdown; include cleaning, sterilization and bacterial testing.
• Use sterile techniques at all times to avoid contamination of lab areas or samples.
• Utilize software applications to assemble, manipulate and format data and test reports.
• Follow universal safety precautions to protect self and co-workers from biohazards.
• Handle potentially hazardous chemical and biological agents and/or radiation sources safely.
• Monitor inventory levels and proper storage of materials and supplies.
