Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Technician in the Department of Chemical Engineering. You will prepare and perform experiments under supervision, maintain lab equipment, and assist with basic repairs.

This role includes equipment maintenance, notifying supervisors of deviations, managing inventory and animal care, and performing other duties as assigned. A high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and simple mathematical functions such as percentages and ratios.
• Security-sensitive position requiring a criminal history check.
• Minimum of one year of direct, job-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and perform experiments under the direction of the supervisor, maintaining lab equipment and performing basic repairs.
• Maintain lab equipment by cleaning and performing basic repairs, and contact the supervisor for more complicated repairs.
• Notify the supervisor of deviations during experiments.
• Maintain inventory and/or provide care for animals.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
