Job summary

Crinetics Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking a Lab Operations Technician to support daily laboratory facilities operations, ensuring equipment functionality, supply availability, and compliance with safety protocols.

You will collaborate with scientists, vendors, and internal teams to maintain a safe, organized lab environment. The role requires 4+ years in lab operations or facilities support, strong organization, and knowledge of EHS guidelines.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in laboratory operations or facilities support.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration.
  • Knowledge of EHS guidelines and hazardous material handling.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in asset tracking software and PC-based computing (Windows).

Position Summary

The Lab Operations Technician is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of laboratory facilities, ensuring equipment functionality, supply availability, and compliance with safety protocols. This role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment by collaborating with scientists, vendors, and internal teams.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with scientists, vendors, and safety personnel to enhance laboratory efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work closely with facilities, EH&S and lab managers to maintain a safe and functional lab environment.
  • Support daily lab operations and maintain lab standards in collaboration with scientific teams.
  • Manage the maintenance and organization of all laboratory areas and equipment.
  • Coordinate technician visits for instrument preventive maintenance, calibration, and general service.
  • Identify and implement innovative techniques to improve lab operations.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, troubleshoot technical issues, and coordinate building projects with the facilities team. Ensure smooth operations of building infrastructure systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lab utilities.
  • Perform hands‑on technician support for general lab service requests.
  • Maintain point-of-use (POU) restocking areas and ensure timely receipt of supplies and equipment.
  • Implement and integrate EHS‑compliant policies for the storage and handling of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals.
  • Participate in routine safety walkthroughs and audits with EH&S.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facility systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Assist with biological and hazardous waste stream management, including collection, documentation, and manifest signing.
  • Maintain availability of essential lab supplies, PPE, laboratory gases, and cryogens.
Education and Experience
  • Associate’s degree, Technical training and/or certifications preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in laboratory operations or facilities support.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration.
  • Knowledge of EHS guidelines and hazardous material handling.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with cross‑functional teams.
  • Proficiency in using asset tracking software and excellent PC‑based computer skills including Windows and MS Office.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, dynamic lab environment.
The Anticipated Base Pay

$45 per hour
