ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Lab Technician to join our engineering teams supporting testing, assembly, maintenance and data collection across advanced facilities.

In this role you will operate and maintain lab equipment, assist engineers with tests, troubleshoot issues, document results, and help improve lab reliability while collaborating with cross-functional teams. A technical degree or hands-on experience is required, with attention to detail and safety.

Formación

• Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in a technical field.
• Experience in laboratory, manufacturing, testing, maintenance, or engineering support.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or automated systems.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment, test fixtures, and data collection processes.
• Experience supporting robotic systems, automation equipment, or electromechanical assemblies is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Operate, maintain, and organize engineering laboratory facilities and equipment.
• Support engineers with setup, execution, and documentation of tests and experiments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to test fixtures, robotic systems, and laboratory equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory tools, instruments, and testing hardware.
• Assemble, modify, and repair test fixtures and equipment as needed.
• Monitor test activities and ensure accurate data collection throughout test execution.
• Assist in diagnosing hardware, mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues impacting testing operations.
• Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, components, and equipment.
• Follow established laboratory procedures, safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Document maintenance activities, test results, and troubleshooting actions.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams to support development and validation activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance lab efficiency, reliability, and uptime.

As a Lab Technician you will be responsible for;

Qualifications;

• Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands‑on experience in a technical field preferred.
• Experience working in a laboratory, manufacturing, testing, maintenance, or engineering support environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or automated systems.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment, test fixtures, and data collection processes.
• Experience supporting robotic systems, automation equipment, or electromechanical assemblies is a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to read and follow technical documentation, procedures, and work instructions.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications for documentation and reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications;

• Experience supporting engineering test labs or R&D environments.
• Familiarity with sensors, instrumentation, and automated test equipment.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance and equipment repairs.

Salary Range: $75K-$90K

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job‑related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
