Lab Technician (Open)

2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform analyses of gases using analytical instrumentation.
  • Conduct routine production testing and quality control analysis of specialty gas mixtures and pure gases.
  • Monitor quality compliance with standard operating procedure manual requirements.
  • Review production records and release products for distribution.
  • Prepare gas analysis certification reports for customer distribution.
  • Coordinate with the production supervisor and plant manager concerning delivery schedules, product complaints and special product requests.
  • Support management team with maintenance of health and safety and ISO quality programs.
  • Collaboratively prioritize workloads and support lead times.
  • Assist in qualification and maintenance of laboratory standards, including inventory, labeling, documentation, storage, and presentation.
  • Assist in setup and maintenance of laboratory instruments and keep maintenance records per SOPs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associates degree in Chemistry or related field, or 1–3 years of relevant experience in an industrial environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of analytical chemistry, instrumental analysis, spectroscopy, and statistical methods.
  • Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Ability to coordinate efforts with multiple departments.
  • High precision work aptitude.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the Laboratory Technician.
  • Strong desire to work in a supportive team environment to achieve laboratory goals.
  • Ability to operate forklift and maintain forklift certifications.
  • Ability to follow directions, build alignment, work in a team, and be reliable.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) or equivalent software.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret detailed instructions such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information to co‑workers and customers.
  • Ability to contribute to solving practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables when limited standardization exists.
  • Mathematical competency: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
  • Ability to work all shifts; subject to all weather conditions.
