MainStreet Family Care Milledgeville seeks a Lab Technician to perform high-complexity molecular testing, including real-time PCR, ensuring CLIA compliance and accuracy in a busy urgent care setting. You will collect and analyze specimens, document results, and maintain equipment with strict quality controls.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in clinical labs with molecular/PCR experience, plus a Bachelor's in a CLIA-relevant field.

Qualifications

• CLIA-compliant certification or Bachelor’s degree in a CLIA-relevant field.
• Two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience including molecular/PCR testing.
• Experience performing high-complexity real-time PCR testing in a regulated lab.
• Experience in urgent care, primary care, or high-volume clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-complexity, real-time PCR testing per protocols and regulations.
• Collect, prepare, process, and analyze patient specimens.
• Accurately document laboratory results in the EMR.
• Perform quality control, calibration, and routine equipment maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards.
• Prepare specimens for internal and external testing as needed.
• Monitor inventory and reagents; manage expiration dates.
• Troubleshoot testing discrepancies and equipment issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment.
• Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to support operations.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking aLab Technicianto join our clinical team in the Milledgeville, GAarea. This role plays a vital part in deliveringaccurate,timelydiagnostic results through high-complexity real-time PCR testing and other laboratory procedures that directlyimpactpatient care.

The Lab Technicianis responsible forperforming high-complexity molecular diagnostic testing, including real-time PCR, while ensuring compliance with CLIA regulations, quality standards, and MainStreet Family Care values. This position supports providers by producing reliable laboratory results that enable efficient diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform CLIA high-complexity, real-time PCR testingin accordance withestablished protocols and regulatory requirements

• Collect, prepare, process, and analyze patient specimens

• Accurately document laboratory results in the electronic medical record

• Perform quality control procedures, calibration, and routine maintenance on laboratory equipment

• Ensure compliance with CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards

• Prepare and manage specimens for internal and external testing as needed

• Monitor laboratory inventory, reagents, andexpirationdates

• Identify, troubleshoot, and report testing discrepancies, equipment issues, or quality concerns

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment

• Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to support efficient operations

Minimum Qualifications

• Medical laboratory certification, or aBachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science that is compliant with CLIA standards.

• Two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience, including molecular or PCR-based testing

Preferred Qualifications

• Five (5) years of clinical laboratory experience

• Experience performing high-complexity real-time PCR testing in a regulated laboratory environment

• Experience in urgent care, primary care, or high-volume clinical settings

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Proficiencyin real-time PCR and molecular diagnostic techniques

• Knowledge of high-complexity laboratory testing standards and CLIA requirements

Schedule

• Approximately 30-40hoursper week

• 10-hour shifts, scheduled across 7 days per week

• Rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed

• Schedule may vary based on operational and testing volume needs
