Job summary

Actalent in Santa Rosa, CA seeks a Lab Tech Sr. to analyze GC/MS and LC/MS/MS data for drugs of abuse. The role runs Tue–Sat, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, onsite in a safety‑minded lab and requires accurate data processing and LIS entry for certification.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field and experience with LC/MS/MS or GC/MS, with ability to follow SOPs and maintain chain‑of‑custody documentation.

• Communicate with supervisors and escalate challenges.
• Maintain a safe lab environment.

Job Description

This role involves processing GC/MS and/or LC/MS/MS data following instrumental analysis for drugs of abuse. The position operates from Tuesday to Saturday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

Job Title: Lab Tech Sr.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow written Standard Operating Procedures.
• Correctly identify analyzed samples and verify the accuracy of sequence for each batch.
• Process acquired instrument data and generate appropriate reports.
• Conduct the first review of GC/MS and/or LC/MS/MS analytical data by each assay SOP.
• Transcribe or upload results to the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for final review and certification.
• Maintain proper and adequate Chain of Custody batch documentation.
• Communicate with supervisors and promptly escalation emerging challenges.
• Maintain and promote a safe and healthful environment for self and co-workers.

Essential Skills

• A bachelor's degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, biology, or a related field.
• Ability to work safely with biological specimens, chemicals, equipment, and instruments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with biological specimens and/or analytical instruments such as LC/MS/MS and/or GC/MS.

Work Environment

The role requires working within a laboratory setting with a focus on safety when handling biological specimens, chemicals, and complex instruments. The work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Santa Rosa, CA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
