Job summary

Norton Healthcare in Louisville, KY is seeking an entry-level Clinical Laboratory Technician to perform phlebotomy, process specimens, and assist in a busy clinic environment. You will document results in the patient record and support QC activities.

No prior experience required; comprehensive on-the-job training provided. One year of healthcare laboratory exposure is desirable.

Qualifications

Performs specimen processing and testing according to policies and procedures. Measures vital signs, including pain score and height and weight, updates patient medical record. Prepares patients for exams and manages flow through clinic area, keeps patients informed. Cleans rooms, chairs and equipment between patients. Performs phlebotomy. Performs PT/INR documents patient results in patient medical record and in result entry. Orders supplies and stocks exam rooms, treatment rooms, lab and nourishment area. Properly rotates supplies for use prior to expiration dates. Assists department with QC/PI- data collection, evaluation and recommendations for improvement.
