Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Roanoke, TX seeks a Lab Tech 2 to receive and process specimens, perform clerical checks, and support laboratory operations. The role may involve phlebotomy and coordination with the Medical Technologist on duty.

The ideal candidate has HS Diploma or GED and less than 1 year of experience, with willingness to work Monday–Thursday 8am–5pm and Friday 8am–4pm. This is a full-time position within HTPN Family Medicine.

Job Summary

The Lab Tech 2 receives and/or processes specimens, performs clerical checks and support functions. May perform phlebotomy.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• Conducts routine laboratory procedures where the range of possible errors is limited.
• Sorts, labels and records patient specimens. Set up specimen, material and equipment in preparation for Medical Technologist to perform test.
• Operates centrifuge, simplex timers, cell washer and other Laboratory equipment in completing assigned duties.
• Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies.
• Maintains effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
• Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.
