Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Lab Tech 1 for a Float position at the Hill Country Clinic Float, covering locations including Marble Falls, Llano, San Saba, Leander, Cedar Park, Lago Vista, Johnson City and Kingsland. Day shifts, Monday–Friday, with standard lab duties and supervision.

The role involves performing routine laboratory procedures, handling specimens, operating equipment, maintaining supplies, and collaborating with teams across locations.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
• EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience

Responsibilities

• Performs routine laboratory duties using established protocols under supervision.
• Sorts, labels and records patient specimens; prepares materials for Medical Technologist.
• Operates laboratory equipment and maintains inventory of supplies.
• Maintains communication with laboratory personnel and external customers.
• Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.

Location

Shift

Day shift, Monday-Friday, 8AM- 5 PM or 7 AM - 4 PM

The Lab Tech 1 performs routine lab duties using established protocols and procedures under supervision. Specific duties may vary by assigned area.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• Conducts routine laboratory procedures where the range of possible errors is limited.
• Sorts, labels and records patient specimens. Set up specimen, material and equipment in preparation for Medical Technologist to perform test.
• Operates centrifuge, simplex timers, cell washer and other Laboratory equipment in completing assigned duties.
• Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies.
• Maintains effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
• Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.
