Plans, manages, coordinates and supervises the activities of the phlebotomy department. Has responsibility for quality and quantity of work, procedures, methods, costs, and personnel of the sections.
Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT) required, or certification as a Histotechnologist or Cytotecnologist by a recognized agency preferred. Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or Health Related Science field required Specialty certification for the specific laboratory section (s) preferred. 3 years of experience in a specialty area (s) preferred. Must have experience in human relations, communications and management skills
