Job summary

Xaira Therapeutics is seeking a Lab Software Engineer to join our interdisciplinary data and bioinformatics team. You will design, build, and deploy software systems that accelerate therapeutic discovery and data capture from lab instruments.

You will work across AI scientists and lab researchers to model complex biological data, build pipelines, and expose APIs for analysis and visualization, in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Chemistry, Biology, Computational Biology, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or C#.
• Solid understanding of laboratory workflows and data.
• Experience with ELN/LIMS systems; Benchling preferred.
• Experience developing data models/schemas for scientific samples and data.
• SQL database queries and table design.
• Experience with cloud computing environments; AWS preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software to interact with lab instruments to capture data in a mix of high and low throughput experiments.
• Build scalable pipelines for automated processing of instrument data.
• Collaborate with computational and experimental teams to define data models/schemas for experimental samples and data.
• Develop APIs and tools to aggregate data for analysis and visualization.
• Participate in the configuration and management of our LIMS/ELN systems.
