Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System in Mishawaka, IN is seeking a Staff Lab Assistant to act as the Labs Customer Service contact. You will greet laboratory patients, providers, clients, and customers, and ensure accurate ordering and charge entry of outpatient and contracted lab orders.

Responsibilities include processing requisitions, ordering tests in the system, transferring test information to medical records, and routing lab reports promptly.

Qualifications

• Education: HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Licensure: Valid driver’s license.
• 1–2 years phlebotomist experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.
• Customer Service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet laboratory patients, providers, clients and customers.
• Ensure accurate ordering and charge entry of lab orders.
• Process laboratory requisitions with complete documentation.
• Order tests in the computer and transfer test info to medical records.
• Receive and route lab reports promptly to correct locations.
