Our lab investigates granular materials and we are using a varietyof smart experimental techniques to reveal granular rheology. Ourtarget in this program is to capture stress transformations at theparticle-scale, to model rheology accurately and precisely, and toobtain unprecedented insight on the solid-liquid interactions inenvironmental applications such as mushy layers, ice crystals incold reservoirs, permafrost or cohesive turbidity currents.
