Job summary

SET Environmental Inc. is seeking a Lab Pack Technician to safely handle, pack, transport and dispose hazardous laboratory wastes under supervision. The role includes supporting Household Waste Day efforts and maintaining inventory in compliance with regulations and SET policies.

The position requires knowledge of DOT/EPA guidelines and a strong commitment to health and safety, with required HazWoper and forklift certifications and a 55-gallon drum handling capability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related sciences strongly preferred.
• Obtain and keep current HazWoper and forklift certifications/licenses.
• Ability to manipulate a 55-gallon drum safely and effectively.
• Commitment to following safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Handle, pack, transport and dispose hazardous laboratory chemicals and wastes under supervision of Lead Field Chemist/Supervisor.
• Participate in Household Waste Day collecting and preparing as needed.
• Complete paperwork (lab pack, safety, and logs) properly and timely.
• Assist in maintaining inventory and storage of hazardous materials per regulations and SET policies.
• Follow Health & Safety/JSA procedures and workplace policies.
• Collect samples on customer sites for analysis.
• Operate forklifts to move materials for storage and loading/unloading.
• Follow all policies as defined in the SET Employee Handbook.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as necessary.

Job description

A Lab Pack Technician at SET Environmental is responsible to:

• Handle, pack, transport and dispose hazardous laboratory chemicals and wastes under supervision of Lead Field Chemist/Supervisor
• Participate in Household Waste Day collecting and preparing as needed
• Have some knowledge of DOT regulations, EPA codes, manifesting, and LDR regulations preferred
• Complete paperwork (lab pack, safety, and logs) properly and timely
• Assist in maintaining inventory and storage of hazardous materials in accordance with appropriate regulations and SET policies, practices, and procedures at HSFO 10-day
• Follow and understand all Health & Safety/Job Safety Analysis (JSA's) procedures
• Collect samples on customer sites for analysis
• Operate forklifts to move materials for storage and loading and unloading
• Follow all policies as defined in the SET Employee Handbook
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as necessary

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related sciences strongly preferred
• Obtain and keep current all certifications/licenses required (I.e., 40 Hour Hazwoper, forklift, etc.)
• Ability to manipulate a 55-gallon drum
• Ability to work safely and follow outlined policies and procedures
