Job summary

Immunai is seeking a Lab Operations Specialist in New York City for an on-site role. You will work with the Lab Operations team to ensure smooth, compliant lab functioning, including biorepository support and core lab activities, aligned with GLP standards and regulatory requirements.

You will assist with shipments, inventory, and routine lab maintenance, while collaborating across biology, data, and operations teams in a dynamic research environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• 3 years of lab experience with tissue culture and aseptic techniques.
• Experience with ELN and LIMS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end workflow support for incoming shipments and chain-of-custody documentation.
• Support core lab functions including tissue processing, reagent validation, and material QC.
• Manage lab supplies inventory and assist with procurement and reporting.
• Coordinate shipments and logistics with carriers and internal teams.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization across lab spaces per SOP and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with EHS compliance and serve as a backup emergency contact.

About the role:

The Lab Operations Specialist works closely with the Lab Operations team to ensure the laboratory runs smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with GLP standards and other regulatory requirements. This role is critical to supporting our cutting-edge immunological research in New York, with a strong focus on core lab support functions and specialized biorepository support, in addition to general lab operations.

What will you do?

• Biorepository and Sample Support: Provide support for the Lab Operations Manager in executing the end-to-end workflow for incoming shipments while maintaining strict chain-of-custody and documentation.
• Core Lab Support: Support essential core lab functions, including the processing of biological samples, reagents validation, and material QC. Provide other lab support functions as needed.
• Inventory and Procurement Management: Manage the lab supplies inventory and restocking. Assist with inventory control reporting and any related activity.
• Ingoing/ Outgoing Shipments: Assist with shipping and freight carrier requests and execution and coordinate logistics.
• Laboratory Maintenance: Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and organization across all laboratory spaces, based on internal SOP and regulatory requirements.
• Safety and EHS Compliance: Assist with EHS compliance activities. Serve as a trained backup emergency contact and first responder, participating in the on-call rotation as required for after-hours support.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
• 3 years of experience in a research laboratory setting, must have experience with tissue culture and aseptic technique.
• Familiarity with an ELN and LIMS.
• Previous biorepository experience is a plus.
• Experience in a GLP compliant environment is a plus.
• Flow cytometry experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of SQL is a plus.
• Strong computer skills, including the use of G-Suite.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Compensation:

This position offers a base salary typically between $80,000 - $90,000. There is an opportunity to consider higher compensation above this range based on business need, candidate experience, and or skills.
