Job summary

Labcorp in Baltimore, MD is hiring a Lab Assistant to support daily laboratory operations on the 1st shift, Monday to Friday. The role focuses on equipment maintenance, record keeping, contract support, and QA documentation while collaborating with QA and finance teams.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in biology, chemistry, facilities management, or related field
• 1 or more years of experience in a CLIA or GMP laboratory setting
• 1 or more years of pipetting experience

Responsibilities

• Laboratory Equipment Schedule, track and perform periodic laboratory equipment maintenance.
• Maintain equipment and laboratory log records.
• Manage assigned laboratory contracts and maintain associated records, specifically hazardous waste.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and malfunctions with manufacturers and facilitate repairs.
• Assist with Quality Assurance investigations and documentation according to department-specific SOPs.
• Facilities Manage assigned administrative contracts and maintain associated records.
• Schedule service and serve as point of contact for assigned onsite vendors and contractors.
• Monitor and answer PGDx by Labcorp phone and call boxes.
• General Laboratory Custom project assistance as necessary.
• Collaborate on Quality Assurance and Finance initiatives as it pertains to job function.
• Respond to off-hours cold storage alarms or other emergencies on a rotational basis.
