General Proximity, a seed-stage startup in the Bay Area, seeks a Laboratory Technician / Operations Manager. You will support Biology and Platform teams, overseeing lab operations, sourcing supplies, maintaining inventory, and coordinating equipment needs.

The role blends hands-on biology with enabling operations and strategic process improvements. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of lab ops experience, strong communication, and a proactive, high-agency mindset.

Qualifications

• BS in Biology or related life sciences; 2+ years maintaining lab ops for 10+ scientists.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and communication skills.
• Proactive mindset to identify and solve issues to ensure seamless operations.
• Experience managing sample inventories, vendors, EHS compliance, and lab safety.
• Proficiency in mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, plasmid design, PCR.

Responsibilities

• General lab management: stocks, inventories, ordering, preparing buffers/media.
• Operations: procurement, equipment acquisition, and coordination.
• Biological research support: maintaining cell lines and assisting cell-based assays; train new staff.
