Job description

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our Global Labs organisation, supporting enterprise-class lab environments used by Engineering, TAC, Product Management, Sales Engineering, and Customer Engagement teams worldwide.

As the senior networking specialist within the lab team, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the network infrastructure that underpins customer demonstrations, proof of concepts (POCs), engineering testbeds, and technical escalation environments.

You'll also provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior lab technicians while driving infrastructure improvements and network-related projects across global lab sites.

Key Responsibilities

Administer, maintain, and improve lab network infrastructure, including switching, routing, firewalls, wireless networking, remote access, terminal servers, and intelligent PDUs.

Lead network deployment, refresh, segmentation, and remediation projects across lab environments.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking and infrastructure issues independently.

Design and implement testbed environments for customer demonstrations, engineering validation, and proof-of-concept activities.

Recreate customer environments for TAC escalations, including complex routing, DMZ, remote-access, and overlapping subnet scenarios.

Deploy and support wireless test environments, including access points, controllers, and RF troubleshooting.

Use packet capture and traffic generation tools to validate network performance, failover, throughput, and stability.

Support virtual and cloud-based lab services by provisioning and validating network connectivity for shared resources and virtual machines.

Provide out-of-band management through terminal servers and intelligent PDUs to enable remote recovery and management of lab equipment.

Create and maintain technical documentation including network diagrams, VLAN/IP plans, port mappings, inventories, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.

Mentor junior lab technicians and provide technical guidance on networking best practices.
