Job summary

NewGen Technologies in Arlington, VA is seeking a Lab Manager to oversee cyber lab operations supporting a U.S. Government customer. You will manage IT infrastructure, security, VPN/VDI, and multi-OS environments to support incident response activities.

The role requires US citizenship, active clearance (DoD Secret, TS/SCI preferred), and hands-on experience with Citrix, VMware, and Jamf Pro. Collaboration across locations is essential.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance, TS/SCI preferred
  • Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability
  • BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering or related degree; or HS Diploma and 7+ years lab management or systems administration experience
  • 5+ years of directly relevant experience in system administration
  • Experience with multiple operating systems, to include Linux/Unix & MacOS
  • Experience and knowledge of networking and network administration
  • Experience with Virtual Private Networks (VPN)
  • Experience with virtual desktops (Citrix, VMWare)
  • Must be able to work collaboratively across physical locations

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced analytics and implement infrastructure solutions supporting command decisions and mission requirements.
  • Support the implementation of new technologies and equipment in the lab environment.
  • Assess network topology and device configurations identifying security concerns and best practices.
  • Advise and provide insight on development of lab SOPs and policies.
  • Provide support for VPN or VDI to users.
  • Provide support for MacOS and iOS to users.
  • Troubleshoot and triage technical challenges and user issues.
  • Monitor IT helpdesk channels and assist with user accounts and credential resets.
  • Implement granular access control, establish back-ups, and monitor systems security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve storage problems across LAN/WAN and monitor remediation.

Job description

Our Partner is supporting a U.S. Government customer to provide support for onsite incident response to civilian Government agencies and critical asset owners who experience cyber-attacks, providing immediate investigation and resolution. Contract personnel perform investigations to characterize the severity of breaches, develop mitigation plans, and assist with the restoration of services. They are seeking a Lab Manager to support this critical customer mission.

Responsibilities
  • Apply advanced analytical skills and technical resources at the tactical levels and implementinfrastructure solutions supporting command decision making and execution of mission requirements
  • Support the implementation of new technologies and equipment in the lab environment
  • Assessnetwork topology and device configurations identifying critical security concerns and providesecurity best practice recommendations
  • Adviseand provideinsight on development of lab standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies
  • Provide support for Virtual Private Network (VPN) or Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (e.g., Citrix) to users
  • Provide support for MacOS and iOS to users
  • Provide troubleshooting and triaging assistance for basic to intermediate technical challenges and user issues
  • Monitor and respond to users on IT helpdesk channels and phone linesAssist in the management of user accounts and resetting credentials
  • Performimplementation of granular access control, and monitor systems for acceptable performance and user accessibility, establish back-ups, and monitor systems security
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage problems across the enterprise related to storage and replication strategies across local and wide area networks. Monitor channels for storage-related network and system issues and remediate them as they occur.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship

  • BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering or related degree; or HS Diploma and 7+ years lab management or systems administration experience
