Job summary

ICL Group is offering a Lab Intern position at our West Virginia site, where you will support laboratory analysis for manufacturing, technical service, regulatory and shipping objectives. The role involves product testing, data entry, equipment maintenance and participation in process improvements in a safety-conscious environment.

The internship requires pursuing a B.S. degree in chemistry or related fields, sophomore or senior standing, and strong analytical and communication skills.

• Pursuing a B.S. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry or another related field.
• Must have completed their sophomore year or senior of university studies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for performance to Lab goals
• Conduct product testing per sample/analysis plans across materials and samples
• Maintain accurate and timely analysis reports including data entry
• Maintain laboratory equipment including routine maintenance
• Complete daily SPC activities and identify improvement areas
• Train other lab personnel in analytical techniques
• Adhere to safety rules and PPE requirements
• Support production process improvement efforts
• Complete other projects and duties as assigned

As the Lab Intern, you will Conduct laboratory analysis to meet manufacturing, technical service, regulatory and shipping objectives.

Location: Gallipolis Ferry, West Virginia

Semester(s) Offered: Summer 2027

Pay Rate: $27.50

I'm interested! What will I get to do in this position?

• Accountable for performance to Lab goals
• Conduct product testing per sample/analysis plans. Products include raw materials, intermediate products, finished products, and Technical Service samples
• Maintain accurate and timely analysis reports including entering data in various computer systems
• Maintain laboratory equipment including routine maintenance
• Complete daily SPC activities and use SPC principles and tools to identify problem areas and areas for improvement
• Train other laboratory or plant personnel in analytical techniques and lab methods and equipment
• Maintain housekeeping standard including clean work areas
• Dump all lab samples in approved containers
• Adhere to plant policies, especially safety rules and proper PPE
• Wash laboratory glassware and plant sample containers. Remove dirty glassware and stock clean glassware
• Complete other projects as directed, and all other tasks/duties as assigned
• Support production process improvement efforts

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?

• Pursuing a B.S. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry or another related field
• Must have completed their sophomore year or senior of university studies
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
• Ability to set priorities and demonstrate strong attention to detail
• Highly motivated and eager to learn
• Ability to relocate if not local
