Job summary

Everforth Apex in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to support HVAC test labs, maintaining electrical and mechanical infrastructure and ensuring high uptime. The role requires hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety compliance in a laboratory environment.

You will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, read P&IDs and schematics, calibrate sensors, and coordinate with vendors for repairs and upgrades.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in HVAC systems, industrial maintenance, or lab environment.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical systems; strong maintenance planning and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of safety practices and standard operating procedures (LOTO awareness).

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of HVAC test rigs and lab infrastructure.
• Maintain chillers, AHUs, cooling towers, pumps, compressors, and piping systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical panels, PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation, and power distribution systems.
• Assist in installation, commissioning, and modification of test setups; read P&IDs and schematics.
• Coordinate with vendors for repairs, calibrations, and upgrades.
