Job summary

Keurig Dr Pepper is seeking an Lab Equipment Controls Engineer II to contribute to the hardware/software controls development for lab and high-speed packaging equipment. You will trouble-shoot existing systems, develop wiring diagrams, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 3–6+ years of relevant experience, with familiarity in Rockwell/National Instruments tooling and PLC programming.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3–6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with lab equipment to simulate high-volume, high-speed, high-precision assembly operations.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation products, National Instruments and Arduino a plus.
  • Programming knowledge of Rockwell RSLogix5000 and FTView ME/SE a plus.
  • Knowledge of VFD and Servo drives (AB PowerFlex and Kinetix a plus).
  • General knowledge of PID loops and process control concepts.
  • General knowledge of motion control concepts and robotics.
  • Experience in food or consumer goods packaging industries is a plus.
  • SQL Server and Visual Basic programming a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install and troubleshoot control systems, servo drives, motors, HMIs and PLCs on Lab equipment, high speed packaging lines and process equipment.
  • Develop, collaborate on and review wiring diagrams and logic for new equipment, field retrofits, and upgrades.
  • Provide support for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize troubleshooting skills with a hands-on approach to identify root cause and define solution.
  • Research and analyze data for specifications, feasibility studies, and productivity improvements.

Job Overview:

As an Lab Equipment Controls Engineer II you will participate in the Hardware/Software Controls development utilized on packaging equipment, process equipment ,, high speed applications and Lab equipment. You will be responsible for significant contributions to trouble shooting existing equipment. You must be self-driven, quick to learn and able to perform in a very dynamic work environment, balancing a wide variety of projects and work activities.

What you will do:
  • Install and troubleshoot control systems, servo drives, motors, HMIs and PLCs on Lab equipment, high speed packaging lines and process equipment
  • Develop, collaborate on and review wiring diagrams and logic for new equipment, field retrofits, and upgrades

  • Utilize excellent troubleshooting skills with a hands‑on approach to identify root cause and define solution
  • Research and analyze data for specifications, feasibility studies, and productivity improvements

Total Rewards:
  • Salary Range: $70,500 - $105,000
  • Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors
  • Benefits, subject to election and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Paid Time Off (including paid parental leave, vacation, and sick time), 401k with company match, Tuition Reimbursement, and Mileage Reimbursement
  • Annual bonus based on performance and eligibility
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree
  • 3 - 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Moderate experience in the engineering, design and development of lab equipment meant to simulate high volume, high speed, high precision assembly operations and complex industrial systems
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation products, National Instruments and Ardino a plus
  • Programming knowledge of Rockwell Automation RSLogix5000 and FTView ME and SE a plus
  • Knowledge of VFD and Servo drives. (AB Powerflex and Kinetix a plus)
  • General knowledge of PID loops and process control concepts
  • General knowledge of motion control concepts and robotics
  • Experience in food or consumer goods packaging industries is a plus
  • SQL Server Database knowledge and Visual Basic Programming a plus
  • Experience with machine vision is a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
