Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline is seeking a Lab Data Manager in the US to deliver fit-for-purpose data management solutions for R&D. You will lead end-to-end data management projects, design solutions for secure reuse of lab data, and collaborate with Quality, Computer System Validation, Tech, Procurement and R&D platforms to drive innovation and standards.

The role requires a proactive, data-driven mindset, governance development, and training oversight.

Qualifications

  • Requires degree in Life science, engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years of laboratory knowledge in data management
  • Experience in project management and change management

Responsibilities

  • Lead data management end-to-end projects for R&D
  • Define and implement data governance, archiving, and standards for lab data

These responsibilities include some of the following:As a n expert in the field of Lab data management and DDA, provides effective and inspiring guidance in term of Lab data management to the team, group, as well as towards R&D customersDefines responsibilities and allocates resources to the different projects taking into account the departmental priorities & ensure performance management providing oversight through performance metrics and adapted governanceEnsure the training/coaching of MyLabData user: leverage & share MLD expertise and ensure the testing of new release of MyLabdataAnalyse Business needs, formalize into detailed use cases (e.g.: Propose & test new complex equipment data strategy (e.g. NGS)) and propose data solution strategy in partnership with key stakeholders (e.g.: Tech)Challenge WoW and traditional thinking concerning Lab Data management in a smart risk-taking approach to improve quality & performanceDevelop and maintain the archiving strategy and associated guidance for electronic lab dataActively participate to the definition or revision of data management global standard (e.g.: Data Management GSOP)Ensure respect of quality standards within the team (e- Change Control, CAPA, deviations)Actively interact with a broad range of stakeholders, with focus on value creation/demonstration and smart risk takingDrive continuous improvement by assessing current technical solutions and overall performance. The US salary ranges take into account a number of factors including work location within the US market, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program which is dependent on the level of the role. Available benefits include health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), retirement benefits, paid holidays, vacation, and paid caregiver/parental and medical leave.
