Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the laboratory team. The role includes performing venipuncture, specimen collection, and processing of blood tests in a patient-focused environment.

Responsibilities include admissions interviewing, registrations, and ensuring compliance with Medicare, insurance, and managed care guidelines. The candidate will support EKG and INR procedures and maintain safety standards throughout laboratory operations.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent; some knowledge of medical terminology.
• Requires at least 3 months of customer service experience.
• Phlebotomy certification/rotation preferred; minimum 32 hours clinical phlebotomy rotation if no certificate.

Responsibilities

• Perform admission interviews, registrations, and order lab tests.
• Ensure Medicare, insurance, and managed care requirements are met.
• Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures with attention to safety.
• Perform additional test procedures such as EKG and therapeutic INR as needed.
• Collect specimens (urine, nasal, throat swabs) and document requirements.
• Demonstrate knowledge of specimen requirements and testing limitations.
• Serve as a resource for laboratory information and processes.
