Tradebe’s East Chicago, IN facility seeks an entry‑level Lab Chemist to support safe, compliant hazardous waste operations. You’ll perform routine analytical testing, handle samples, and operate instruments in a safety‑driven lab.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required with a foundation in science or chemistry.
• Willing to work independently and with a team in an industrial lab.
• Able to handle hazardous materials using PPE in a safety‑driven environment.
• Ability to wear a respirator when required; college coursework a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine analytical testing on hazardous waste and chemical samples.
• Conduct tests such as pH, moisture, oxidation, titration, calorimetry.
• Process daily waste samples including GC analysis and metal testing.
• Calibrate instruments daily (pH meters, calorimeters, GC‑MS, GC‑FID).
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory equipment as needed.
• Follow EPA methods and internal safety policies.
