Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a Spring Co-Op in the Biotherapeutics Discovery department at our Ridgefield, CT facility. The Co-Op will drive evaluation, optimization, and miniaturization of purification protocols, employing bioprocessing techniques and automation tools in a laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing.
• Student must be enrolled at an accredited college or university for the duration of the co-op.
• Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred.
• Major or minor in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related life science field of co-op.
• Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university.
• Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university.

Responsibilities

• Antibody purification and plasmid DNA purification, aiming to improve yield, purity, scalability, and automation compatibility.
• Conduct robust validation of new and existing experimental procedures to ensure reliability and reproducibility.
• Generate innovative insights into procedures to drive scientific investigations.
• Communicate and document finding effectively.
