Beth Israel Lahey Health, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to perform venipuncture and capillary punctures for adult and pediatric patients, route specimens, and support EPIC EHR data entry. The role includes phlebotomy precepting and QA responsibilities within a busy ambulatory lab setting.
Essential duties include specimen processing, CLS QA, and routine waived tests with a focus on accuracy, safety, and timely courier packing. Travel to off-site locations may be required.

Under the direct supervision of the Site Manager and the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager independently performs venipuncture and capillary punctures on adult and pediatric patients and is familiar with patient and specimen requirements. Performs processing of specimens and routes specimens to the appropriate laboratory for analysis. Performs a variety of clerical duties associated with the operation of the Lahey Health EPIC EHR. Performs special projects as assigned. May be required to work at off-site locations as needed. Acts as a preceptor for new phlebotomy staff as needed or directed by the Site Manager or Laboratory Manager. Performs laboratory waived testing and quality control. Responsible for daily documentation to include refrigerator and room temperature. Driving as needed to complete currier services.

Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Completion of phlebotomy certification program with externship is preferred but not required. Additional certification by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Board of Registry is preferred but not required.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Organized, accurate and detail oriented. Good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and providers. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment required.
Experience: 1+ years of phlebotomy experience and demonstrated proficiency in the phlebotomy field.
Pay Range: $21.00 - $28.26 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
