Alton Memorial Hospital has a part-time Evening Lab Associate I opportunity. We are seeking a lab technician with phlebotomy experience to work in a hospital setting. Hours are from 10pm to 6am, every other weekend, with rotating holidays.

Overview

Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and surrounding communities within a five-county area. Originally established as a land gift from the Smith family, it has evolved into a full-service acute care hospital offering a range of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, and ambulance services.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Performs non-blood and blood specimen collection, specimen handling/routine processing, and clerical duties related to specimen collection.

Responsibilities

1. Perform phlebotomy, ensure positive patient identification, interact positively with patients, and maintain specimen integrity.
2. Manage multiple tasks accurately, including STAT orders and workload fluctuations, prioritizing work to meet scheduled hours and turnaround times.
3. Coordinate with lab, clinical, and other ancillary departments.

• Less than 2 years of supervisor experience preferred
