Job summary

IQVIA seeks a Laboratory Associate- Flow Cytometry in Valencia, CA, with a Tuesday–Saturday 4 PM–12:30 AM shift. Responsibilities include performing analytical procedures, data analysis, and ensuring compliance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or equivalent
  • 6 months experience in a regulated laboratory environment
  • Basic knowledge of regulatory standards such as GLP and related practices

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document analytical procedures per SOPs and regulatory guidelines
  • Conduct routine data analysis to verify procedures are within expected tolerances
  • Identify and document deviations or unusual results and escalate to senior staff
  • Prepare data analysis results for upload to LIMS under supervision
  • Assist in quality investigations, deviations, and resolutions
  • Prepare buffers and solutions for analysis as required
  • Review and update laboratory procedures and techniques
  • Guide entry level staff on routine procedures and support onboarding
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment as assigned
  • Provide hands-on training for other lab personnel
  • Assist in implementation of procedural changes and development
  • Notify inventory staff of supply shortages
  • Represent lab team on cross-functional projects
  • Communicate clearly with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Participate in continuing education and safety initiatives
  • Comply with company procedures and regulatory requirements

Job description

We are seeking a Laboratory Associate- Flow Cytometry to join IQVIA’s laboratory business at Valencia, CA. Shift: Tuesday to Saturday 4PM to 12:30 AM We hire passionate innovators who drive healthcare forward through thoughtful and inclusive collaboration.


What you’ll be doing:


  • Responsible for performing and documenting analytical procedures in accordance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines.

  • Performs routine data analysis to determine if an analytical procedure is proceeding according to expectations and that the results are within acceptable tolerances.

  • Identifies and documents potential performance errors or otherwise unusual results and escalates to senior lab personnel.

  • Prepares data analysis results for upload to LIMS system under the guidance of senior level staff.

  • Assists in quality investigations, deviations, and resolution.

  • Prepares buffers and solutions for analysis, as required.

  • Assists in the review and update of laboratory procedures and techniques.

  • Guides entry level staff on routine procedures and supports on-boarding of new staff.

  • Performs and document calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment as assigned.

  • Performs and documents hands on training for other lab personnel in areas of proven competency as assigned.

  • Assists in the review and development of laboratory procedures and techniques.

  • Assists in the implementation of procedural changes as assigned.

  • Notifies inventory staff of supply shortages.

  • May represent lab team on cross functional projects.

  • Responsible for clear, accurate, and timely communications with cross functional stakeholders.

  • Participates in continuing education through self-study, attending training sessions and lectures and meetings.

  • Supports safety, quality, and 6S requirements and initiatives.

  • Complies with company's procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.


The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed for this role:


  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelors Degree Or equivalent combination of education and experience (Some CAP/CLIA lab locations may require a BSc in in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology or cytotechnology.)

  • Req 6 months experience in a regulated laboratory environment.

  • Pref Requires basic knowledge of assigned technical area, systems and procedures obtained through prior work experience.

  • Demonstrates understanding of functional area and responsibilities.

  • Working knowledge of any applicable regulatory standards within area of responsibility, such as Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

  • Proficiency with relevant laboratory techniques.

  • Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and practices including standard precautions and hazardous chemical handling.

  • Experience working with automation or specialized laboratory equipment.

  • Proficiency with routine and some non-routine laboratory calculations regarding batches and specimens including averages, means, standard deviations, and various quality control metrics.

  • Good computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

  • Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $34,700.00 - $72,300.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
