Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a hospital-based role supporting clerical and pre-analytical lab processes. You will document patient data, verify specimen labeling, and ensure accurate test orders.
The position improves lab efficiency and patient satisfaction by timely result handling. Responsibilities include coordinating with physician offices, preparing specimens, answering inquiries, generating labels, and assisting with billing and inventory to keep operations running smoothly.
Contributes to the Hospital’s mission by providing the clerical and pre-analytical support associated with lab specimen processing. This position will have an impact on laboratory efficiency, physician/clinician satisfaction and ultimately patient satisfaction by recording receipt of specimens accurately and efficiently and following through on lab results in a timely manner.

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: At least one year of medical laboratory, clerical or secretarial experience.
Required: For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team.

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
