Job summary

Natera is seeking a Lab Associate to support R&D labs by procuring and organizing reagents and materials, maintaining inventory, and fulfilling researchers’ requests. The role emphasizes EHS/GLP compliance and safe handling of waste.

Candidates should have a life‑sciences background and at least one year of lab experience. The position is a six‑month contract with potential to extend or convert to FTE, with pay in the $25–$30 per hour range for a Remote USA location.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a clean, neat, and organized laboratory through routine lab clean-up events.
  • Manage laboratory consumable and reagent inventory.
  • Prepare, aliquot, and stock reagents as needed.
  • Place R&D orders, receive, and deliver/store items.
  • Adhere to EHS and GLP guidelines.
  • Monitor waste streams and dispose according to guidelines.
  • Conduct routine lab safety inspections.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisor.

Job description

POSITION DURATION:

Six-month contract role with potential to extend or convert to FTE based on performance and business needs

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lab Associate plays a crucial role in supporting Research and Development laboratories. Their responsibilities include procuring, receiving, and organizing reagents and materials, as well as maintaining an accurate inventory of laboratory consumables. This position also involves fulfilling diverse requests from research personnel related to lab procedures and proactively addressing potential laboratory needs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate a clean, neat, and organized laboratory through routine lab clean-up events
  • Manage laboratory consumable and reagent inventory
  • Prepare, aliquot, and stock reagents as needed.
  • Placing R&D orders, receiving, and delivering/storing items
  • Ensure strict adherence to environmental, health and safety (EHS) and good laboratory practices (GLP) guidelines
  • Monitor satellite waste streams, including biohazardous and hazardous chemical waste, and dispose of them according to EHS guidelines
  • Conduct routine lab safety inspections
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor or manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in life‑science or related field preferred
  • 1 year of experience working in a laboratory environment

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
