Primary responsibilities involve all aspects of specimen collection including registration, order entry, processing, packaging, preparation and transport of specimens. Performs age appropriate phlebotomy procedures on neonatal, pediatric, adult and/or geriatric patients. Assumes responsibility for compliance with all State, Federal, Hospital and Laboratory policies and procedures. Requires strict adherence to quality control guidelines to ensure the integrity of laboratory specimens and accuracy of results. Assumes responsibility for supply ordering and inventory control. Acts as a liaison between customers and the laboratory to ensure customer satisfaction with laboratory services by answering inquiries/resolving problems and relaying results. May perform Microbiological tasks including, but not limited to: planting of all culture types, preparing slides for staining, and incubating plates/plants at proper temperature. Requires multi-campus rotation. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
