• Monitor pneumatic tube system and notify issues.
• Perform maintenance and daily cleaning of processing centrifuges.
• Process reference laboratory specimens and verify physician orders.
• Receive all specimens from couriers and drop-offs; enter data into LIS.
• Register specimens and order tests in LIS.
• Research and assist in problem solving regarding specimens and results.
• Search for refrigerated specimens for add-on testing when taking verbal orders.

Responsibilities

• Assist in proper receipt of specimens and paperwork into the Laboratory.
• Assist technical staff in the appointed department.
• Dispose of lab specimens on a daily basis.
• Enter and complete LabOps issues as necessary.
• Fill clients' supply requests.
• Maintain the Lab in a neat and orderly fashion (e.g., clean break room, decontaminate counters).
• Monitor pneumatic tube system and Laboratory tube station; troubleshoot and communicate with other departments; notify Facility Services of any issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Perform maintenance and daily cleaning of Central Accessioning / Processing centrifuges.
• Process Reference Laboratory specimens, empty specimen bags, and verify physician orders.
• Receive all specimens from laboratory couriers, specimen drop-offs, and the pneumatic tube system; enter necessary information into the Laboratory Information System.
• Register specimens and order tests in the Laboratory Information System(s).
• Research and assist in problem solving regarding specimens and lab results.
• Search for refrigerated specimens for add-on testing when taking verbal orders from units or physician offices.
• Separate specimens, label tubes, and deliver all specimens and paperwork to the appropriate lab section.
