Pellahealth is hiring a Laboratory Assistant on-site for part-time shifts. Under supervision, the assistant performs phlebotomy, sample processing, and lab testing, with exposure to neonatal through geriatric patients.

The role supports continuous quality improvement efforts and requires effective communication in English. The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma, current BLS certification, and basic computer/clerical skills, plus the ability to adapt to shift rotations and professional

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required. New employees certify within three (3) months after hire date.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Basic clerical skills.
• Ability to communicate with tact and professionalism.
• Expresses ideas clearly and succinctly.
• Flexibility for shift rotation within the department.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of an MLT or MLS, the Laboratory Assistant completes phlebotomy, sample processing and appropriate laboratory testing. The Laboratory Assistant must demonstrate the ability to work with neonates, infants, children, adults and geriatric persons. The Laboratory Assistant participates in Continuous Quality Improvement activities.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required. New employees certify within three (3) months after hire date.

Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.

Strong written and verbal skills.

Basic computer knowledge.

Basic clerical skills.
