Job summary

MultiCare Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, WA is seeking a Laboratory Assistant - Phlebotomist to join our team. This 0.5 FTE position requires venipuncture skills, specimen transport and proper labeling according to protocol.

The role works Saturdays and Sundays 11:00am–9:30pm with 10 hour shifts, and you will support patients and the laboratory team to deliver timely, compassionate care.

Applicants should hold MA-P certification or be eligible and have hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist Certification (MA-P) or Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist eligible.
• Experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures professionally and at various sites; explain the procedure to the patient.
• Ensure blood draws are collected in a timely manner and monitor workload/pending lists for specimen accountability.
• Accurately label patient samples following hospital policy.

Position Summary The Laboratory Assistant Phlebotomist is an excellent opportunity at MultiCare, responsible for obtaining blood samples, transporting samples for medical testing, and processing specimens according to protocol and procedures. You will work together with the team to ensure the most comprehensive and compassionate care for patients.

• You will perform venipunctures professionally and with skill at various sites and explain to patient the procedure
• You will ensure draws are collected in a timely manner and check all workload pending lists periodically for specimen accountability
• You will accurately label patient samples following hospital policy

Requirements

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $21.89 - $32.83 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
