Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; coursework or a degree in biology, laboratory science, or related field is preferred.
• Experience in a laboratory, healthcare, or clinical environment; experience with specimen accessioning or regulated environments is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and commitment to accuracy in handling specimens and data.
• Process- and safety-focused; able to follow procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements in a lab setting.
• Technically proficient; comfortable using computers and data entry systems; LIS experience preferred.
• Able to meet physical requirements: standing, repetitive tasks, lifting supplies, PPE.

Responsibilities

• Receive, accession, label, and verify incoming specimens per policies and CLIA requirements.
• Confirm specimen integrity and documentation prior to testing; escalate discrepancies.
• Assist with sample preparation and staging under supervision; support PCR and molecular workflows.
• Enter accurate specimen and patient data into LIS; maintain logs and temperature records; support throughput tracking.
• Stock, organize, and monitor lab supplies; communicate inventory needs.
• Maintain clean, compliant workspace; follow infection control and waste disposal procedures; support safety checks.

The Opportunity

We’reseeking a Lab Assistant to supportConvenientMD’slaboratoryservices at an exciting stage of growth. Reporting to the Lab Manager and Supervising Lab Technician, you will play a key role as our laboratory services continue to expand across the organization,supporting the smooth flow of laboratory operations that enable the delivery oftimely, high-quality diagnostic results and directlyimpactpatient care.

In this role, you will partner closely with Lab Technicians andlableadership to ensure specimens are received, processed, and documented accurately while supporting PCR and molecular testing operations. While this role does not perform high-complexity testing independently, it plays a critical part inmaintaininglab throughput, quality, and turnaround times,making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their experience in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Your Impact

• Receive,accession, label, and verify incoming specimens according to laboratory policies and CLIA requirements.
• Confirm specimen integrity and documentation prior to testing and elevate discrepancies as needed.

Laboratory Workflow Support:

• Assistwith sample preparation and staging under supervision.
• Support PCR and molecular testing workflows by organizing and transporting specimens safely within the lab.

Data Entry & Documentation:

• Enteraccuratespecimen and patient data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Maintain logs, temperature records, and compliance documentation to support quality and regulatory standards.
• Assistwith workload tracking and throughput monitoring.

Inventory & Supply Management:

• Stock, organize, andmonitorlab supplies and consumables.
• Communicateinventory needs and support basic tracking processes.

Lab Environment & Safety:

• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory workspace.
• Follow all infection control, biosafety, and waste disposal procedures.
• Support routine safety checks, including eyewash and safety station monitoring.
• Communicate effectively with lab team members to support workflow efficiency.
• Partner with clinic teams as needed to clarify specimen collection or documentation.

Who You Are

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.Coursework or a degree in biology, laboratory science, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: E xperience from a laboratory, healthcare, or clinical environment. Experience with specimen accessioning, laboratory support functions, or working within regulated environments such as CLIA, COLA, or CAP is a plus.
• Detail-oriented: Exceptional organizational skills and a strong commitment to accuracy when handling specimens, entering data, andmaintainingdocumentation.
• Process &safetyfocused: Comfortable following established procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements to ensure quality and compliance in a laboratory setting.
• Technicallyproficient: Comfortable using computers and data entry systems. Experience working with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) is preferred.
• Able to meet physical requirements: Able to successfully perform the physical demands of the role, including standing for extended periods, completing repetitive tasks, lifting supplies, and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment: Energized by high-volume work environments and can effectively manage competing priorities whilemaintainingefficiency, accuracy, and quality standards.
