The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia is seeking a part-time lab assistant in the Parichy lab to help with routine molecular biology tasks and animal facility care.

Flexible hours around coursework; compensation is $14.60 per hour, open to Federal Work-Study students; position open 8/26/25 through 5/8/26. Training provided and opportunities to assist with ongoing developmental genetics projects.

Qualifications

• Current UVA student with Federal Work Study eligibility.
• No prior laboratory experience required.
• Part-time hours flexible around courses.

Responsabilités

• Assist with routine molecular biology tasks and animal facility care.
• Solution preparation, plate pouring, and sterilization.
• Organization and inventory management; care and feeding of tropical fish (zebrafish).
