Job summary

Texas Oncology Southwest Fort Worth Laboratory is seeking a Lab Assistant to support the Southwest Fort Worth Cancer Center and potentially float to multiple Fort Worth TXO Market sites. The role provides exposure to a range of laboratory procedures, with a focus on collecting and processing specimens and delivering timely results to impact patient care.

Under supervision, you will assist with phlebotomy, instrument maintenance, and quality control while following CLIA guidelines and safety

Qualifications

• Minimum three years laboratory experience.
• Level 2 (in addition to level 1 requirements)
• Level Sr (in addition to level 1 and 2 requirements)

Responsibilities

• Collects appropriate specimens from patients as ordered.
• Performs specimen analysis of chemistry, hematology, immunology as directed.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and ensures viability of supplies.
• Preps patients as necessary (e.g., taking vital signs).
• Performs phlebotomy and sample collection procedures as needed.
• Maintains records and lab logs and maintenance logs.
• Sends specimens to reference laboratories for testing not performed in house.
• Operates designated laboratory equipment as directed.
• Complies with CLIA guidelines and safety policies.
