Job summary

Carondelet St. Josephs Hospital in Tucson, AZ is seeking a phlebotomist to perform blood specimen collection, receipt and distribution, and assist with lab processing.

You will handle CLIA waived tests, support pathologists and histotechs, and supervise Lab Assistant I/II when needed. The role requires 1 year of lab experience or formal phlebotomy training, a high school diploma, and phlebotomy certification where required by law.

Job Summary

Performs blood specimen collection, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens; will perform CLIA waived laboratory tests, as requested. Will process anatomic pathology and cytology specimens; assists pathologists and histotechs, as needed. Will supervise or lead lab assistant I and II positions, as requested.

Completes prioritization, receipt, registration and distribution of specimens. Has responsibility for sendout/reference lab shipping, tracking and billing. Will perform waived testing, as requested. Will assist with processing of anatomic pathology specimens including preparation of microscopic tissue slides, staining and specimen management, as requested
