Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist for day shifts (11am–7:30pm) at IU Fisher Hospital. The role involves specimen collection, processing and basic clerical tasks within a 24/7 lab environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, completed phlebotomy training, and basic computer skills. Experience with waived or moderate complexity testing is preferred, and annual competency assessments are required.

Qualifications

• Requires HS grad or GED or equivalently.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program; experience preferred.
• Annual competency assessment for identified testing is required.
• Proficiency with computers and basic software.
• Experience in waived or moderate complexity testing preferred.
• Good telephone communication skills required.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Provides general laboratory services including specimen collection, blood component preparation, pre-analytic processing, waived testing and moderate complexity testing, plus related clerical tasks.
• May be responsible for patient and specimen registration and delivery of specimens.
