Job Summary

The anticipated duration of this temporary assignment is approximately 5 weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for washing, siliconizing, and sterilizing laboratory glassware.

  • Includes collecting glassware, determining the cleaning process steps, and restocking cleaned and autoclaved glassware in the lab.

• Perform weekly swipe tests.

  • Document results and file in the logbook.

• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of:

  • Countertops.
  • Common-use lab facilities (e.g., tissue culture room, kitchen area).

• Dispose of mice after experiments conducted by lab members.

• Order and restock common supplies for:

  • Lab.
  • Admin/kitchen area.

• Prepare LB and media.

UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.
