Job summary

Amneal is seeking a Lab Assistant in New Jersey to handle cleaning and basic lab support tasks in a safe, organized environment.

You will clean glassware, floors and benches, manage waste disposal, assist with inventory, and log shipments. The role requires attention to FIFO and daily stocking, with additional duties including periodic supply orders and autoclave-related cleaning as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in handling, cleaning, and maintaining laboratory glassware is preferred.
• High School or GED is preferred.
• Experience with lab inventory and receiving shipments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Continuously clean glassware by using cleaning machine and scrubber; organize cleaned glassware in storage areas.
• Clean lab floor and benches; remove garbage; discard waste to designated containers.
• Ensure lab supplies are stocked daily and apply FIFO for item placement.
• Receive shipments and log into the material receiving logbook.
• Occasionally order lab supplies when required.
• Germinate post testing reject samples for decontamination and run autoclave cycles; wash and dry glassware and store properly.
• Perform any other duties as requested by laboratory management.

Description:

The Lab Assistant will handle all laboratory cleaning responsibilities, which includes but is not limited to constantly cleaning glassware, countertops and floors. The Lab Assistant will also ensure that the garbage is not overflowing and dispose of hazardous waste.

Essential Functions:

• Continuously clean glassware by using cleaning machine and scrubber as needed. Organize and store cleaned glassware in storage cabinets or designated area in the laboratory.
• Clean laboratory floor and benches, remove garbage from laboratory area, discard laboratory generated waste to designated waste collecting containers.
• Ensure lab supplies are stocked on a daily basis and arrange the incoming items at their designated places in order to allow First In and First Out (FIFO) use
• Help in keeping optimum lab inventory, receive the shipments in and logging in the Material receiving logbook.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Occasionally order lab supplies when required.
• Microbiology-Gather post testing reject samples for decontamination, run autoclave cycles for sterilization and decontamination, wash decontaminated glassware, and organize cleaned glassware for drying and place dried glassware to their storage locations.
• Perform any other duties as requested by laboratory management.

Education:

• High School or GED - Preferred

Experience:

• Experience in handling, cleaning, and maintaining laboratory glassware is preferred.

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $17.50 to $23.00 per hour. In addition, Amneal offers a short-term incentive opportunity, such as a bonus or performance-based award, with this position within the first 12 months.
