Job summary

Trinity Health in Muskegon is seeking a part-time Lab Assistant to perform clerical, registration and phlebotomy duties with an evening shift and alternating weekends. You will support scheduling and billing tasks while ensuring accurate patient information and specimen handling.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Obtain registration information from patients and signatures as outlined.

• Distribute laboratory reports and retrieve patient results.
• Maintain logs, inventory and assist with billing reconciliations.

Description: 13:15-21:45, every other weekend and holidays included. 48hrs per pp 1:15p-9:45p- weekends and holidays to be scheduled in accordance with CBA

Position Purpose

Position Summary

Performs a variety of clerical, registration, cashier functions as well as laboratory phlebotomy procedures. Maintains logs and records. Maintains inventory and orders supplies. Reconciles billing on AS400 and error batch. Works with Warde send outs including follow up with procedures and Warde billing.

What Lab Assistant will do

• Obtains registration information from patients and patient signatures as outlined according to procedure.
• Explains health care policies and procedures to patients.
• Obtains and interprets physician orders and diagnoses and performs the clerical functions related to ordering of ancillary services.
• Distribute laboratory reports and retrieve patient results.
• Employment Type: Part time

Shift: Evening Shift

Minimum Qualifications

• High school graduate required. Associates preferred.
• Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral. Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Department operation provides 24-hour coverage, 365 days per year, which may require working a variety of shifts and days of the week.
• Must be able to be reached at home by telephone.
