Description
The Lab Assistant provides operational support by assisting with sample preparation, equipment cleaning, inventory management, and maintaining an organized, compliant laboratory environment. This role is ideal for an individual who is dependable, highly organized, and detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to cleanliness, accuracy, and following established procedures. The Lab Assistant plays an important role in ensuring operations run efficiently by supporting technicians and helping maintain the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. Successful Lab Assistants are dependable, organized, and proactive. They take pride in maintaining an orderly workspace, anticipate the needs of the laboratory team, and understand that accurate preparation, cleanliness, and attention to detail are essential to producing reliable results. Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist Lab & cultivation personnel with daily operational tasks and production support.
- Prepare, label, organize, and transport laboratory samples and materials.
- Clean, sanitize, and sterilize laboratory equipment, tools, and workstations according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly laboratory environment.
- Monitor laboratory supply levels and assist with inventory counts, stocking, and replenishment.
- Receive, organize, and properly store laboratory materials and supplies.
- Dispose of laboratory waste in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulations.
- Accurately complete required logs, records, and documentation.
- Assist with data entry and recordkeeping as needed.
- Inspect laboratory areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety standards.
- Follow all company policies, laboratory SOPs, and California cannabis regulations.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain safe work practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED required .
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and reliable attendance.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and able to meet all applicable California cannabis employment requirements.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, production, warehouse, or cannabis cultivation environment.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment, inventory management, or quality control processes.
- Experience working in regulated or highly controlled environments.
- Familiarity with California cannabis compliance requirements is a plus.

- Operations: This position will work in an indoor manufacturing facility with controlled temperatures; may be exposed to bright lighting, loud equipment, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and working in proximity with staff and vendors.
- Indoor cultivation, production , laboratory and /or manufacturing environment.
- Frequent exposure to cannabis plant material and laboratory supplies.
- Required use of PPE, including gloves, lab coats, masks, and eye protection, as applicable.
- Work requires adherence to laboratory cleanliness, safety, and compliance standards.
- Fast-paced environment where organization, consistency, and attention to detail are essential.
Job Requirements
- Work revolves around objectives , projects, and priorities, not hours; must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed .
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift, sit, and bend for a majority of their work schedule.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to package and label products.
- Sufficient visual acuity to inspect products and labels for quality and accuracy.
- Ability to distinguish labels, numbers, and small details accurately.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
- Selected candidates will be required to complete a post offer, pre-employment background check with the local law enforcement or Desert Hot Springs Police Dep artment.
