Piper Companies is seeking a Laboratory Animal Care Technician to join a leading organization within the laboratory animal science and research industry. The Laboratory Animal Care Technician will support daily animal care operations within a barrier facility, ensuring the health, welfare, and proper handling of rabbits while maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant environment.

Responsibilities of the Laboratory Animal Care Technician:

• Provide daily care for rabbits, including feeding, watering, monitoring health, and supporting overall animal welfare protocols.
• Clean, sanitize, and power wash animal housing areas, cages, and facility spaces to maintain compliance and cleanliness standards.
• Assist with animal movement, selection, packaging, and order fulfillment activities while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Maintain accurate records related to animal care, feeding schedules, cleaning procedures, and operational activities.
• Follow established protocols and procedures to support animal well-being, facility operations, and regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to a team-oriented environment while supporting weekend, holiday, overtime, and early-morning operational needs as required.

Qualifications of the Laboratory Animal Care Technician:

• Previous animal care experience preferred; laboratory animal experience is not required.
• Genuine interest in animal welfare, animal development, and hands‑on animal care responsibilities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks including bending, reaching, squatting, pushing, and pulling.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, positive attitude, and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• ALAT certification or related animal care certifications are highly desirable.

Compensation for the Laboratory Animal Care Technician includes:

• Pay Rate: $18 per Hour
• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off
